Important TRAI Updates on DLT & SMS Communication

Dear Recruiters,

TRAI has mandated the new DLT framework to manage commercial communication in India and is aimed at curbing the problem of Unsolicited Commercial Communication (UCC). Hence has brought in strict regulation in SMS communication.

As per the TRAI update, customers can send SMS only with pre-approved SMS formats and this will be enforced from 8th March 2021 onwards.

The SMS will no longer be an open text communication. To adhere to TRAI rules, we will be removing the Open text & introduce the pre-approved SMS formats for sending SMS. That means the SMS traffic coming from open text/wrong templates on DLT will be dropped. So it becomes mandatory for all of us to move forward with Pre-approved SMS formats.

Please note, as result of this update, your earlier saved SMS templates will no longer be applicable for future use, so will be deprecated on or before 8th March 2021.

This article intends to provide information related to Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) implementation as prescribed by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) for sending domestic SMS traffic within India.

To act in accordance with the TRAI’s new TCCCP Regulation, Freshersworld has made certain changes on the platform to adhere to TRAI rules.

We kindly request your support to move forward on the next phase of integration to restrict Unsolicited Commercial Communication.
