Applying For Jobs But Not Getting Interview Calls? Use These 5 Tips!
This is a question that a lot of you might have on your mind. Well, look no further. We’re here to answer those very questions!
Now, one of the main reasons that candidates don’t end up getting call letters for attending interviews is because of their profile incompletion. Don’t know what that is? Click here to find out more about how to complete your Freshersworld profile, to bring the maximum out of your job search.
So now that your profile is at 100% completion, you’re in luck. Check if you missed something. If everything looks good and you’re still not at 95 -100%, then it should be something very minor which you might have just overlooked. Don’t worry, it’s probably not that important, so let’s leave it at that! Just make sure that you’ve made at least around 90 to 95% completion and you’re good to go.
Now that we’ve covered the profile completion part, let’s take a look at some other factors that could be stopping you from getting interview calls. Here are a few reasons for this:
Your resume wasn’t tailored to the job description
ATS and the human resource committee uses this technology where, if the job posting says the employer is looking for an experienced professional who is “fluent in data analytics,” use the phrase “fluent in data analytics” (assuming you in fact are!) on your resume. The ATS resume search app will pick up on the phrase and realize it matches up with the job description.
Your resume is too long and is getting skimmed over rather than read closely
The modern resume should be short and easy to read. While it doesn’t NEED to be one page, it should certainly be a maximum of 1-2 pages for job seekers in the first 8-10 years of their career. If you’ve been working just a few years and have a three-page resume, that’s a problem.
You’re applying for the wrong job
This might sound cliché but one thing you have to keep in mind when applying for any job is the eligibility criteria. This doesn’t mean that you see only the percentage requirements. There’s, in fact, a lot more to it. Example – If you have all the skillsets specified and you have updated your current location on your FW profile such as ‘Mumbai’, you can go ahead and apply. Your chances of getting the job will be much higher and this is also very beneficial to you, as your hometown and your workplace will be nearby.
You’re not applying for enough jobs
You should focus on the quality of applications, not quantity. Once you do this, the chances of you getting your dream job will be much higher. Click here to know what to do and what not to do during job hunting.
Your CEAT Test Score
We’re sure all of you’ve heard this at least once and quite frankly, it’s the truth. A candidate who’s taken the CEAT test gets a higher preference than the premium members. We only have one very simple reason – We already know how good the candidate is, if taken the test and scored well. When a company approaches Freshersworld for a set of pre-assessed candidates, the ones who have taken up the test are our first choice. So all those who have not yet taken this test, this might just be the reason you’re missing out.
