The eligibility for IPS is that the graduate should possess a degree with pass mark with 21 to 30 years. For OBC category the age limit is 33 years and for SC/ST there is no limitation. For IPS the male candidate should possess a minimum height of 165cm and female 150cm for general category.
Exams and syllabus
The IPS exams have two category of exams where one is the preliminary exams and other the main exams. The preliminary or entrance exam covers up subjects like verbal ability, quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability, DI/DS, and general awareness. The papers are of objective category and will be given in English and Hindi. The main examination has seven papers where paper 1 is one Indian language which carries 300 marks, paper two will be English which carries 300 marks, paper 3 will be an essay paper for 200 marks, paper 4 &5 are general studies with 300 marks, paper 6 & 7 which carries 300 marks.
