Loads of Opportunities for Fresh Graduates

Getting a job these days is a tough task for freshers but they don’t have to worry now. Fresher hiring will happen across some sectors such as IT, BPO, Banking/ Finance, E-commerce, and Fresher hiring is a bright spot this year. On campus placements would also be increasing this year.

Job openings for freshers

Freshers have a lot of opportunities this year as companies like Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm, GoAir, SpiceJet, IndiGo, HCL Technologies, Cognizant, LTI, Capgemini, HDFC Bank, Hero Honda Motors Limited, Hinduja Global Solutions, IBM, Infosys India Limited, JPMorgan Chase & Co., L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering Ltd, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Tata Consultancy Services Limited and Wipro are going to hire freshers. As per a report, HCL Tech will employ around 10,000 freshers from Indian campuses during this fiscal year, while LTI would be hiring around 3800 freshers in the current fiscal because it believes that their business will grow at a faster pace.  The IT sector is hiring talent mainly in the data and analytics space, artificial intelligence Cybersecurity and Progressive Apps.  So students still studying can go into this field.

Even government companies are coming up with jobs for freshers. Students who have completed their 12th pass, Diploma, Engineering Graduates, Graduates (BBA, BMS, BBM) post Graduates, PhD etc, can find the Government  Jobs in Teaching, Research, Navy, Management schools and many more. Government companies like NMDC, MRPL, ISRO, IIT, National school of Drama, Government medical college Jammu, AIIMS, REPCO Bank, SAIL, and some more are hiring for positions like management trainees, Technical assistant electrical, technical assistant, marketing personal, lab engineer, project associate, research assistant biotechnology, professor, admin assistant, junior research assistant life science, school teacher, Lab Attendant .

Salary paid to freshers by top MNCs

Salary that Top Indian Companies pay the freshers these days range from 2-6 lakhs per annum on an average. This salary depends on the position and the company you get into. Salary is one important credential based on which the fresher decides whether to join or not. There are some IT service companies who boosted the salary package for freshers as they see rising demand for young talent that could be trained on digital skills amid growing orders in emerging areas from global customers.

 

Few tips to freshers who are applying for a job

  1. Look for internship: If you’re struggling to secure a long-term or permanent position, internship is great way to gain that much-needed experience.
  2. Start volunteering: Volunteering will boost your employability, especially if you have no relevant experience. Although unpaid, you’ll profit from the skills and contacts you gain. Volunteering experience shows commitment, initiative and a strong work ethic – after all, you’re working for free – which are all valuable, appealing traits to prospective employers.
  3. Build your networks: When you’re starting out with no experience, who you know can be just as important as what you know. A recommendation to an employer from a personal contact can go a long way.
  4. Emphasise the skills you have: Work experience, internships and volunteering are essential for ensuring that your CV doesn’t look empty at the application stage. Focus your CV on the skills you do have, rather than the ones you don’t.

Target realistic roles: If you are a fresher be realistic and target entry-level or junior jobs and be prepared to start at the bottom and work your way up. Applying for opportunities small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) or startups can help you gain knowledge. With this knowledge you gain in such companies can help you grow and later after sometime you can apply in big companies.
