Campus Ambassador Meeting @ Kolkata

As I walked down from the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Airport in Kolkata, I met Snehashish & Samyukta (CAs from BP Poddar Institute). The venue for the CA meeting was at City Center, Salt Lake. We took a taxi and reached there. Arunabha, Samir, Debashis & Subhojyoti also joined us there.

The discussion was centered on the CA programme and how it can be scaled up in the Eastern zone. Everyone came up with new ideas, but mostly the focus was setting up a separate Kolkata based Eastern Zone unit of Freshersworld.com which will be managed by CAs. The main focus of this organization would be to visit the lesser known colleges in the outskirts of the city and provide them with assistance to find jobs. When we say jobs, we are not talking about companies come down to recruit. The basic discussion is centered around the fact that more students should possess the adequate skilles to call themselves “Employable”. If we can create this talent pool, then companies are certainly going to setup offices and also more students are going to get jobs. Arunabha also discussed the possibility of him handling the programme for the North East. We also believe that this can play a critical role.

We also discussed about projects and how we can actually start incubation centers in colleges and students scan then directly help with Freshersworld.com projects. We then treated ourselves to some kachoris, samosas and soft drinks.

Every CA has already sent me actionable points from the discussion and I will start actioning them once I am back in Bangalore (by isom). It is fun to be back in Kolkata and we headed off to one of the oldest colleges of the country, BESU where my presentation was scheduled the next day. The CAs is Bengal are extremely driven people and we are certainly going to bring about change soon.
